What’s included

Accommodation & Transportation

Includes four and five star hotel accommodations, private arrival transfers from the Athens Airport, private group transportation to all sites, events and destinations on the tour, including flight from Athens to Heraklion, and ferry from Heraklion to Santorini. Departure transfer from hotel to Santorini port or airport.

Note- Does not include air fare to and from Greece.

Meals & Events

Breakfast everyday is provided at the hotel. Either a lunch or dinner will be provided for the group, with time to enjoy the other meal on your own while you explore.

Itinerary

Sunday, June 9th

Arrival in Athens

You will be met and transferred to the five star Royal Olympic Hotel. We’ll meet for an informal cocktail in the evening.

Monday, June 10th

Athens Sightseeing & Wine Dinner

Breakfast at the hotel.

Join our guide for a sight-seeing tour of the Panathanaic Stadium, and Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus. Of course, we will tour the Acropolis, and visit the Acropolis Museum. Bring your walking shoes- this will be the longest day of walking on the trip!

In the evening we will convene at By the Glass for an outstanding wine pairing with dinner.

Tuesday, June 11th

Athens to Nafplion – Visit Mycenae and Semeli estate.

Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

We’ll take a private bus west along the coastline to the Corinth Canal (45 minutes) for a short stop to take in the views. Then we will continue on (45 more minutes) to the archeological site of Mycenae, the legendary home of Agamemnon in the Iliad. We will follow this with wine tasting and finger food at Semeli Estate.

Our drive ends in the picturesque town of Nafplion where we will check into the Amphitryon Hotel. Explore the town in the evening- we’ll have recommendations for dinner on your own. (And perhaps a gelato!)

Wednesday, June 12th

Free Day in Nafplion

Breakfast at the hotel.

Take the day at your own pace. Glenn will be going on a run along the Karathona trail if you would like to join him! Or take a swim at the public beach close to the hotel. We’ll have recommendations on what to see and do.

In the evening we’ll gather at a restaurant (TBD) for a group dinner.

Thursday, June 13th

Visit Nemea and Palivos estate.

Breakfast at the hotel.

We’ll take a private bus to visit Palivos Estate and the site of Ancient Nemea. After the site tour we will enjoy a wine tasting and light lunch from the hillside winery.

Evening and dinner at your leisure in Nafplion.

Friday, June 14th

Nauplion to Athens – flight to Heraklion

Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

Our private bus will take us back to the Athens airport for an early evening flight to Heraklion (60 minutes). We will be transferred to the Metropole Urban Hotel and after freshening up will meet for a group dinner at Petousis Taverna.

Saturday, June 15th

Knossos Palace -Lyrarakis winery

Breakfast at the hotel.

We will take a private bus with our guide to Knossos, just 5 kilometers from the city to see the ancient Minoan palace. After the tour, we will visit Lyrarakis winery for wine tasting and lunch.

In the evening you’ll have time to explore Heraklion on your own.

Sunday, June 16th

Heraklion Archaeological Museum -Diamantakis winery

Breakfast at the hotel.

In the morning we’ll walk to the Archeological Museum of Heraklion where we will take a self-guided audio tour. The museum is incredible and there is a lot to see- you’ll have the time to find the things that most engage you. Our bus will meet us at the Museum to take us to _____ winery for a tasting and lunch.

The evening and dinner in Heraklion are at your leisure.

Monday, June 17th

Heraklion – Akrotiri excavation - Santo wines visit.

Breakfast at the hotel and check out.

Perhaps our earliest morning puts us on the 9am boat to Santorini! A private bus will take us from the port to the excavation site of ancient Akrotiri for a guided tour. We’ll have time for a coffee and snack before heading to Santo Wines to enjoy wine tasting and lunch with a truly incredible view of the caldera.

After checking into the Santorini Palace Hotel, you’ll have time to explore the town of Fira and find dinner on your own.

Tuesday, June 18th

Karamolegos winery & Aroma Avlis

Breakfast at the hotel.

We will visit Artemis Karamolegos, one of the most prestigious wineries in Santorini, and enjoy a tasting with a fabulous wine pairing and lunch from their award-winning kitchen. Dinner will be on your own, but I’ll be full.

Wednesday, June 19th

Catamaran cruise

Breakfast at the hotel.

For our last day, we have something really special planned. You haven’t been to Greece if you haven’t been on the water. Bring your bathing suit. We have a private boat that will take us to swimming beaches and hot springs. Enjoy a grilled meal with seafood and an open bar and watch the sunset from the water.

Thursday, June 20th

Departure

Breakfast at the hotel and checkout.

Our tour ends in Santorini with transfers to either the port or airport for departure.
